This product, if you select it, is normally purchased during the Rex flight booking process and the premium is added to the total cost of your Rex booking.

This policy covers against a wide range of unforeseen events that can disrupt your domestic or international travel, including Trip Cancellation and amendment, Trip Delay, Overseas Medical expenses, loss of Personal Baggage, Rental Vehicle excess and more.

This product can be reviewed and purchased via the REX website and is available to any eligible person for domestic and overseas travel (not limited to REX travelers)

Some of the features of the REX Trip Protect Travel Insurance policy*:

Trip Cancellation and Amendment Cover

Trip Cancellation and Amendment Cover for non-refundable deposits, excursion costs and unused travel and accommodation costs that you have paid in advance in the event you cancel, curtail or change your trip due to:

  • You or Your Travelling Companion being unfit to begin or continue your trip due to an unforeseen injury or illness (including COVID-19) or dying before or during your trip; or
  • A close relative having an injury, suffering an unforeseen illness or dying before or during your trip; or
  • A natural disaster having caused devastation to the destination you were intending to travel.
  • Excludes cover for pre-existing medical conditions

Personal Baggage, Valuables, Money and Travel Documents Cover

  • Provides cover for damaged, destroyed, lost, stolen personal baggage, valuables, money and travel documents during your trip.
    • Excludes items left unattended in a public place.
    • A limit of AUD $1,500 applies. Other sub-limits apply, such as total for all valuables (including sub-limits for smartphone, laptop, and camera) AUD $1,000, one (1) smartphone (AUD$750), one (1) laptop (AUD$750) and one (1) camera (AUD $750).

Trip Delay Cover

  • Cover for additional hotel accommodation (room only) up to AUD $200 if your flight is delayed for more than six (6) hours.
  • Excludes purchase of non-essential clothing and toiletries for use within 24 hours of your personal baggage delay.
